Orange Bellied Parrot Breeding Facility, Hobart

Following Argall's developed experience in adaptive, innovative and functional structures as part of animal husbandry and animal containment across a number of exhibits at the Melbourne, Werribee and Taronga Western Plains Zoos as well as the Healesville Sanctuary, we are proud to announce we are part of a team led by Urban Initiatives to develop the blueprint for a new Orange Bellied Parrot Breeding Facility on Five Mile Beach in Hobart.

The Orange-bellied parrot is listed as endangered under the Tasmanian Threatened Species Protection Act 1995. It is also listed as critically endangered under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 and has the dubious honour of being one of the most endangered birds species in Australia.

The proposed State Government funded multi-million-dollar facility should pave the way for stabilising and rejuvenating the species into the future.
